1. Medina County Senior & Adult Services (age 60 and over eligible)

Transportation-Photo1.jpg Provides fully subsidized transit services for On Demand or Flex rides to several destinations and back. Rides are free of charge; orange ID card must be utilized. The number to call is 330-723-9670 or you can schedule on the EXFare app. Please confirm/check your transit one day ahead of time. $2.00 donation requested for all trips. Trip donations can be mailed into the office at 246 Northland Drive, G-20, Medina, OH 44256.

Trips subsidized include:
· Medical Appointments
· Public Benefits Agencies, Social Service Agencies
· Grocery Shopping or Bank or Drug Stores (1 roundtrip per week)
· Recreation Center (1 roundtrip per week)
· Laundromat (1 roundtrip per week)

*You are still able to schedule and ride with MCPT for additional rides at your own expense.*

Bus passes are available for once per week transportation to grocery stores, drug stores, banks, senior centers, and nutrition sites. Please call MCSAS for details.

Transit Subsidized Trips Details

All roundtrip rides to medical appointments, dental appointments and physical therapy appointments. Proof of appointments may be required.>

All roundtrip rides to the closest senior center to your residence: Medina Center, Brunswick Recreation Center or Soprema Senior Center (rides to other senior centers must be paid for on your own).

Roundtrip rides to the Medina Senior Center for benefit services will be provided if services are not able to be completed over the phone.

All roundtrip rides to social services agencies: JFS, Veterans Services, Community Action, United Way, Social Security, BMV.

One roundtrip ride per week to the grocery store OR pharmacy OR bank of your choice.

One roundtrip ride per week to the closest recreation center to your residence: Medina, Brunswick, Cloverleaf or Wadsworth YMCA. Letter for additional trips from physical therapists or doctors are not accepted.

One roundtrip ride per week to laundromats.

All roundtrip rides to dialysis.

Trips MCSAS will NOT cover:

• Hair Salons
• Restaurants/Bars
• Churches
• Trips destinations to any other private residence
• Trips destinations to any senior housing complex/apartment building/assisted living/nursing home

2. Elderly and Disabled Program (age 65 and older or disabled)

Provided through Medina County Transit, http://medinaco.org/transit/index.html Applications can be obtained from transit (or MCSAS) and returned to transit. If you are 65 years of age or older, you do not need to have to complete a doctor’s form as part of the application, you can send it in with proof of age (or our Outreach Worker’s signature). If you are under 65 and disabled, you must complete an assessment with a qualified professional. Fares will be half-price if not covered by subsidized program described above.

3. Compassion in Action (age 65 or over or disabled)

Provides free volunteer-based transportation to seniors, based on type of appointment and availability.  For more information, please call Medina County Senior & Adult Services at 330-723-9514.

4. Veterans Transportation Subsidy

Medina County Veterans Service Office provides free transportation through Medina County Pulblic Transportation for all veterans, regardless of frequency or reason. To activate this benefit, you will need to obtain a Medina County Veterans ID at the Medina County Recorder’s Office, 144 N. Broadway St, Medina, OH. You will need a photo ID and your original or a certified copy of your DD-214. This benefit takes the place of all other transportation subsidies as it is more comprehensive. It is available for veterans only, not spouses.
